Government Services
KBM has worked with natural resource partners in both the private and public sectors including companies in mining, forestry, renewable energy, and utilities. KBM routinely engages it partners with various government agencies and also provides services directly to these agencies:
Federal Government
KBM has provided audit and evaluation services to Natural Resources Canada in its review of National Strategies and the Model Forest Program. In addition, KBM has contributed to strategy development and review of Canadian Council of Forest Ministers initiatives on climate change and wildfire.
Canada’s Department of Fisheries and oceans is a client of KBM’s aerial photography products and GIS/Geomatic services
Provincial Governments
Saskatchewan Ministry of the Environment used KBM’s services to develop manuals and guidance on forest inventory and forest planning initiatives.
KBM has conducted numerous Independent Forest Audits for the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) under the Ontario Crown Forest Sustainability Act (over 42 completed or in-progress audits to date). Final audit reports are public documents tabled in the Ontario Legislature. [LINK to MNR IFAs site]. MNR also oversees the provincial Forest Resources Inventory program and has contracted KBM to deliver various aspects of the program (FRI LINK). KBM has also completed several studies on wood supply and costs for the MNR.
Municipal Governments:
KBM has provided urban forestry services to the City of Winnipeg and Thunder Bay that have included custom forest and tree inventories and park plan (photos and samples). These project make use of KBMs Aerial Photography and GIS/Geomatics Services
Erosion and dust control trails have also been conducted in Thunder Bay using ENTAC
In addition, KBM has provided GIS/Geomatic services to small municipalities in Northwestern Ontario and represent the Omega Group, providing GIS solutions to public safety issues
Non Government Organizations:
KBM has done several studies for environmental non government organizations ( e.g. Partnership for Public Lands) and The world Bank. KBm has also contributed for forest certification audits

First Nations Projects
KBM is also a leader in site preparation and business development with Aboriginal communities. We have negotiated co-management of new forest operations in traditional territory as well as leading training and community development projects.
