Forest Resource Inventory (FRI)
KBM Resources Group has conducted Forest Resource Inventory (FRI) surveys in Northwestern Ontario since the mid-1980s. Working with both private industry and government partners, KBM provides comprehensive services throughout the FRI process, from data collection (aerial photography and field surveys), photo interpretation, and GIS mapping, to generating the final information products including forest stand maps and area summary reports.
KBM is also exploring new systems to help the FRI process, including simulation-modelling software that can improve forest management by running scenarios to see how forestry activities can impact the forest in the future.
In-House Experts and Strong Partnerships
KBM is recognized in its many leadership and auditing roles. The company has a full staff of foresters with years of field experience including Certified Boreal Forest Interpreters, analysts with strong GIS and data management skills, a complement of two aircraft for aerial photography, and decades of combined field surveying skills.
